Prescriptions

If your doctor feels you require medication long term, you may obtain repeat prescriptions every month by contacting the surgery in two ways, either come to the surgery during opening hours and make a written request, or you can send request of your requirement by post enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.

Prescriptions can be collected 24 hours later from the receptionist. If you wish, your prescription can be sent directly to the local chemist of your choice. Please allow extra time if you are using the post or requesting that your prescription be sent to the chemist.

Repeat prescription request can not be taken over the telephone, because firstly mistakes can be made over the telephone and secondly such requests lead to the blocking of telephone lines that may be required for emergencies.

You will be asked to see the Doctor at appropriate interval to review the suitability of your repeat medication before further repeat prescription could be issued.
