CONFIDENTIALITY

The practice recognises the right of every patient to have information about themselves kept secure and private. Any information given to any member of staff will remain confidential. Normally no information would be disclosed without the patient's permission. The only possible exception to this would be if failing to do so put others at risk.

ACCESS TO YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS

Sometimes officials from Cardiff Local Health Board would like the medical records of a patient for the purpose of post-payment verification of some of the services provided to the patient by the Practice.

Any person given access to your records will be subject a duty of confidentiality. You have a right to object to disclosure and you can obtain from the Practice Manager the identity of such individuals who have access to your medical information.

Usually these checks are done by computer programme, which does not reveal patients identity.
